Utah Jokes

I'm having issues downloading the Halloween Pictures, so while I get that going, I will entertain you with some UTAH JOKES that I got in an email this morning...

*If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September to May, you live in Utah.

*If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you live in Utah.

*If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you live in Utah.

*If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed the wrong number, you live in Utah.

*If 'vacation' means going anywhere south of Salt Lake City for the weekend, you live in Utah.

*If you measure distance in hours, you live in Utah.

*If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you live in Utah.

*If you have switched from 'heat' to 'A/C' and back again in the same day, you live in Utah.

*If you install security lights on your house and garage but leave both unlocked, you live in Utah.

*If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching, you live in Utah.

*If you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit, you live in Utah.

*If the speed limit on the highway is 75 mph -- you're going 80, and everyone is still passing you,
you live in Utah.

*If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow, you live in Utah.

*If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction, you live in Utah.

*If you find 10 degrees 'a little chilly' you live in Utah.

*If you actually understand these jokes, you live in Utah.

Our Pumpkins...

We decorated our "big" pumpkins and I thought you might be in the mood to see them. :) They aren't carved this year. We just used the "Mr. Potato Head" type parts and pushed them into the pumpkins. :) It was fun, quick and a LOT less messy than carving. :)

Jeremiah's

Mine (Mandy's)

Robyn's (Archer helped)

Archer's

DarTanion's
(his has MANY faces, so the rest are the other faces of his pumpkin)

More Fun at the Zoo !

Soon, there will be posts of Halloween fun. But today, it's about the zoo. :)

Yesterday (Monday), the kids were out of school for Teacher Prep Day (or whatever it's called). We have been trying to go to the zoo with our neighbors (Dome Family) all summer. Finally, a day that worked! It wasn't hot, it wasn't cold. The weather was PERFECT and we were feeling somewhat healthy...

The day was really fun. Neither Jeremiah or Lance were able to go, but Shiree and I braved the zoo with our 3 kids a piece in tow... :) DarTanion and Alex were our leaders pretty much everywhere we went, so there aren't as many pictures of them...

Anyway, enjoy the pictures and the video of Archer! :)

DarTanion says...

As a parent, there are those moments that make you giggle and go, "What?" but they are SO cute that you have to share them with everyone you know... Here is a recent one Jeremiah and I had with DarTanion. :)

Last week on the way to Walmart with all the kids in tow, DarTanion was asking a million questions. He would just sit there and it would take him 2 minutes before he got the entire question out. I think he was just wanting to hear himself talk. He kept say, "Mom" (in a whiney tone), "um.... Mom.... um.... " It was getting a little annoying...

Then he stops for a second and says, "Ok, Mom - If I was your pet lizard, would you take good care of me and love me?"

Where the crap did that come from? :) I don't have a pet lizard. I don't want a pet lizard. We don't know too many people who have pet lizards. But this was the question from my 5 year old. If he was a lizard, would I take care of him and love him. :)

Meet my new son, DarTanion.
(no we didn't buy a lizard, I'm being a dork)

Jeremiah and I laughed, but DarTanion had this serious look on his face, so we assured him that if he was a lizard we would take care of him and love him. We'd even feed him bugs cuz they're like candy to a lizard.

Ah, kids. Everyone should have these moments...

Grandma Bagley's House

(Wow - it's almost been a week since my last post. That doesn't happen often...)

DarTanion's been asking (constantly) about when we are going to Grandma Bagley's house again. I know he likes to see Grandma and Grandpa Bagley, but I really think it was more that he wanted to see his cousin (my cousin, actually), Kooper. (Kooper lives next door to Grandma and Grandpa.) He and DarTanion are the same age and are both a little wild and crazy. DarTanion and Archer were out of school on Thursday and Friday due to UEA, so we decided to make the 3 hour trip to Koosharem to see Grandma Bagley. (And if you have heard of Koosharem, you are amazing!) Jeremiah had to work, so it was just me and the kiddies. (My parents did come down to go hunting on Friday, so we did see them, but they stayed at their house down there...)

I don't have many pictures of DarTanion from this last weekend because he was running around with Kooper the whole time. I bet I saw him around 4 hours each day because he was never inside Grandma's house... See, they live on a farm so there is LOTS of room to run around and lots of trouble to get into and lots of 4-wheeling that needs done...

Mikyla, Tucker, DarTanion and Kooper going to play a game.
(See those hay stacks in the background? Yeah, they were playing ON TOP of those... Didn't have my camera with me that time, though...)

My dad riding the 4 wheeler
(he looks hilarious on it because it's a kids 4 wheeler and he is definately bigger than a kid!) :)

DarTanion giving the thumbs DOWN.
He was going to fast and launched the 4 wheeler into a small ditch behind Grandma's house. He and Kooper were both fine, but they were almost in tears when they told Grandpa Sherrill (my dad) that they wrecked the 4 wheeler...

Grandma tends to take over the babies and since Robyn is the baby, she was held pretty much the whole time. :) She didn't really mind. When she wasn't being held, she was sleeping or driving little cars or playing with a little hammer. Yeah, I hope she will be a "girl" someday...

Since DarTanion was busy the whole time and Grandma had Robyn, Archer was my buddy. We would go play on one of the tractors, then go feed the sheep, then go feed the horses, then go play in the hay stacks, then go play with the kitties, then go see the cows (and moo at them). Then we would take a kitty in the house and smoother it with love until Grandpa started in about how cats belong outside. So we'd go outside and start all over again. :) That's why I have more pictures of Archer than anyone on this trip, too. :) It was fun spending some time with my little Archer this weekend. :) He's a funny little guy.

The Head Spin...

DarTanion is my dancing kid. He always has been. He loves to dance - and show off. Here is his latest move... :)

DarTanion showcasing his new move -
The Head Spin

I swear - this kid WILL be in a dance class if I have anything to do with it! He loves watching breakdancing and then tries to copy it. :) And really, is there anything cooler than a guy who can dance? :)
