Just when you think you are about done (with whatever) more things always seem to happen.
We've worked out a pretty sweet budget and and are pretty much sticking to it. We had this fantastic plan of what to do with our tax returns - pay a whole crap load of bills, go on a cheap date with my hubby (without kids), another hopefully cheap date with the kids, and put on all the finishing touches in the basement (where we live). You know, a front door that is actually an exterior door. Frame the windows in so that you don't see the concrete in the walls. Put trim up in our kitchen. Maybe even some closet doors...
At least not with tax money.
Jeremiah's brother moved out of our upstairs this last weekend so that he could be closer to his work and basically everything else he does. Plus, he has a place to store his rare motorcycle and other toys and tools. Good for him (and really, we're happy for him), bad for us.
So now, tax money is going towards finishing upstairs. Yes, it's technically 'done', but if we're going to rent it out to someone NOT family, then it needed a few things done. SO, we bought some paint today and started repainting walls. We're going to be buying 3 exterior doors so that we can put fire doors on the 2 doors going into the upstairs 'apartment' and one that goes down towards our little abode. We're putting in a new bathroom vanity / sink. We're putting new flooring in the bathroom. Changing all the door handles to match each other. Getting the broken window fixed. Probably gonna cost us close to $1000. So with the other money, we're catching up our house payment. And then, it's back to the poor house and starting to fall behind on bills - unless we get renters...
if you know anyone....
We have an almost 1250 square foot upstairs of a house for rent. It's 3 bed, 1 bath. It was almost completely remodeled about 2 years ago (new carpet, new windows, new pretty much everything). It will have new flooring in the bathrooms and new paint on all the doors and walls at the end of this weekend. It has a stove, dishwasher and a fridge and if needed we could keep our washer and dryer upstairs as a shared laundry. If not, there is a room for laundry. Some utilities (water, sewer, garbage, gas, electricity) are included. Pretty close to BYU. We're asking $950 a month.
SO YEAH, if you know anyone, have them email me at mandysfriends@hotmail.com. We can show the place now and hope to have it move in ready by the end of this week.

Oh so tempting! You have NO idea! Close to you and Calista and back in our old ward and I wouldn't have to be the primary president anymore. Wow. But we couldn't afford the rent. It's almost $300 more than we're paying now. :( I'll let you know if I hear of anybody looking, though. I hope you find someone!
Hey Mandy!! Good luck! I passed this link onto my parents in Heber and told them to pass it around to see if they know of anyone who needs a place in Provo! I'm sure you'll find someone soon. You should post it on craiglist too...free advertising can't be beat!!! Good Luck!! :)
